The survivor of the blaze remains in hospital and is said to face a “long recovery”.
Two GoFundMe pages have been set up for a man who was injured in the major workshop fire in the Dublin suburb of Rathgar this week.
The blaze broke out on Tuesday morning (16 January) and led to the Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB) and Gardaí rushing to scene to prevent its spread and close the surrounding roads.

Fundraiser set up for man who sustained ‘serious burns’ in Rathgar workshop fire
Later that evening, DFB – who brought the fire under control – posted an update on Twitter that read: “Firefighters/advanced paramedics treated one person before removal to hospital.”
In a statement to JOE, a Garda spokesperson also said: “A male in his 40s was conveyed to St James’ Hospital for treatment of injuries.”

Two GoFundMe pages have since been set up for the survivor of the Rathgar fire, stating that the injured man is named Andrew (Andrzej) and that he remains in hospital with “severe burns to his legs and hand”.
One of the GoFundMe pages states: “Hi, my name is Mila and I am fundraising for my friend who luckily survived the fire in the bike workshop he was employed in, but remains in hospital with severe burns to his legs and hand. He is awaiting a skin transplant and a long recovery.
“Not only… won’t [he] be able to work during recovery but also [he] has no workplace to return to. He has a 7yo son and his wife is not working due to health problems.
“Please donate to support Andrew and his family in this difficult time.”
A fundraising target of €5,000 has been set, with over €1,250 being raised so far. You can visit that GoFundMe page right here.

The other GoFund Me page states: “In the wake of a devastating fire at a motorcycle service centre in Rathgar, we find ourselves rallying together to support one of our own. The fire not only claimed the livelihood of the business owner, but it also left one of their dedicated mechanics (Andrzej) with severe burn injuries.
“The purpose of this GoFundMe campaign is to extend our support and solidarity to Andrzej during his recovery journey. The funds raised will contribute to medical expenses, rehabilitation, and any additional support needed for him and his family as he rebuilds his life after this traumatic event.”
So far over €7,000 has been raised through this fundraiser, from an initial target of €1,000. You can visit that GoFundMe at this link.
