So much has happened in Irish society during 2016 that it’s easy to forget some of the biggest events and stories from the past 12 months.
Here are some of the biggest stories on JOE during October.

5) The whole of Ireland honoured Anthony Foley in an incredibly patriotic way
All of the radio stations in Ireland played The Fields of Athenry in memory of Anthony Foley.

1) ‘I took a pill at Electric Picnic and my life changed forever’ -Extract from Sophie White’s first book
Sophie White has just published her first book, ‘Recipes for a Nervous Breakdown,’ which tells the story of her struggles after she took an ecstasy tablet at Electric Picnic in 2007.
White is a journalist and cook who has written for the Sunday Independent and HerFamily.ie, among others, and she has given us permission to share the first chapter of her book.
