If you’re buying property in Dublin and Wicklow, you’d want a few quid in your pocket.
Just three counties in Ireland had an average property price of less than €100,000, according to survey conducted by GeoDirectory Ireland.
House prices in Longford (€80,357), Roscommon (€88,317) and Leitrim (€91,608) were all under €100,000 in 2016 to date, well below the national average of €232,862, a figure which drops to €168,078 when Dublin is excluded.
Perhaps not surprisingly, the highest average prices were to be found in the east of the country, in Dublin (€380,237), Wicklow (€315,564) and Kildare (€255,967).
The survey also highlighted the turnover and vacancy rates of properties in each county with data obtained from the 2016 census; the highest vacancy rates were found in Leitrim, Donegal and Kerry.
