Man dies and two people hospitalised following three-vehicle collision in Tipperary

Very sad news.

A man in his 70s has died and two people have been brought to hospital by ambulance following a road collision in Tipperary on Tuesday.

A collision involving three vehicles on the M7 at Birdhill, Co Tipperary occurred at approximately 2pm on Tuesday afternoon; a man in his 70s was fatally injured and two people were brought to University Hospital Limerick by ambulance.

Gardaí and Emergency Services are at the scene and diversions are in place. The southbound lanes of the motorway between junctions 26 (Nenagh) and 27 (Birdhill) are expected to remain closed to traffic overnight.
