Man (22) in critical condition following two-vehicle collision in Louth

Two other people were injured in the crash.

A man is in critical condition following a two-vehicle collision in Louth in which two additional people were injured.

The incident took place on the N2 in Edmonstown on Saturday evening (11 September) at approximately 8.20pm when a motorcycle and a car collided.

The motorcyclist, a 22-year-old male, was removed from the scene with serious injuries. He is currently receiving treatment at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where his condition has been described as critical.

The driver of the car involved in the crash – a man aged in his late 30s – and his passenger – a man aged in his mid-60s – were treated at the scene by paramedics.

Gardaí examined the scene before reopening the road to traffic.

An appeal has been issued to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to make contact with Gardaí, particularly any road users travelling in the vicinity on Saturday evening between 8pm and 8.30pm, who may have dash cam footage.
