Passengers from Russia that arrive in Ireland after 4am on 29 June are required to enter quarantine in a designated hotel.

Russia is among nine states that are to be added to Ireland’s mandatory hotel quarantine list, Health Minister Stephen Donnelly has confirmed.

The additional states to be added to the list are the Dominican Republic, Eritrea, Haiti, Indonesia, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar and Tunisia.

After 4am on Tuesday, 29 June, passengers arriving into Ireland having been in or transited through these states in the previous 14 days are required to enter quarantine in a designated hotel.

A statement on the government’s website said the decision to add to the mandatory hotel quarantine list was taken following advice received by Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan.

It is a legal requirement that all travellers coming to Ireland must have a negative or ‘not detected’ result from a Covid-19 RT-PCR test carried out no more than 72 hours before arrival to Ireland.

In addition, it is also a legal requirement that those from countries not on the mandatory hotel quarantine list must also observe 14 days of home quarantine.
