The article is title “Gays We Respect”…

The Russian edition of Maxim magazine have caused controversy after they published a list of celebrities who they “forgive” for their sexual orientation.

“We, men, do not consider men who love men to be men. This is the rule,” the intro of the article reads.

“But there are exceptions. There are gays who have earned our respect and the right to remain real men in our eyes.”

Yep, you read that correctly…

Exceptions to their rule are actors Neil Patrick Harris and Ian McKellen while they also said that Freddie Mercury “brought us so much joy, we are ready to forgive him anything.”

Stephen Fry was also included on the list for being “the living embodiment of the idea that one can be openly gay and a sensible person at the same time”.

We’re sure he will be delighted… *Satire alert*

Speaking to Buzzfeed, US Maxim denounced the article, “We are deeply disturbed by the article in Maxim Russia and fully condemn it, it is entirely against the views of U.S. Maxim.”
