Ireland West Airport is due for major expansion plans as there are set to be even more flights departing from Knock.
Starting in June, popular airline Ryanair will increase the frequency of its flights between Knock and Liverpool to 10 departures every week, which will only add to the growth the airport has experienced in the past year.
2025 was the busiest year on record for Knock Airport, with over 946,000 passengers, surpassing the previous record of 834,000 passengers in 2024, an increase of over 13%.
Planning permission has been given the green light for the construction of a new aircraft hangar and storage facility at Knock Airport Business Park in Kilgraff, West Charlestown.
Knock Airport Business Park lies approximately 1km west of Ireland West Airport, Knock.
The new plans feature a two-storey office area, an ancillary aircraft storage space, as well as a new access road linking to the existing local route.
Additionally, there will be an increase in staff and visitor parking and bicycle stands.
