The flight initially took off on Friday night.

Aviation authorities reported that the pilots of a Ryanair flight requested to return to land shortly after takeoff due to reports that the aircraft may have clipped its tail on the runway.

Ana State, the spokesperson for Henri Coanda International Airport in Romania, stated that the flight was heading to Dublin and had 173 passengers on board when the request came in to return to the Bucharest airport.

State reported that the Boeing 737-800 airliner landed safely about an hour later.

There was no obvious signs of any damage to the aircraft, and the passengers resumed the trip to Dublin early Saturday morning.

According to The New York Times, an unnamed passenger reported on Saturday that there was a noise “similar to a car travelling fast that hits a big hole” when the plane took off.
