More good weather news.
Saturday is set to be one of the hottest days of the year so far, with temperatures reaching as high as 20 degrees in Ireland.
This comes after Met Éireann’s meteorologist Siobhán Ryan told JOE that “good sunshine” will be here to stay right out until the end of the week and even into the early days of next week.
The weather forecaster has since said Friday will be dry and bright with spells of hazy sunshine and temperatures ranging from 12 to 18 degrees.
Saturday will also be pleasant and sunny, with temperatures set to be between 13 and 20 degrees.
The good weather will stretch into Sunday too, which will be dry and sunny once again as temperatures ranging from 11 to 18 degrees are forecasted.
Earlier in the week, however, Ryan told JOE that different parts of the country will see different temperatures.
Connacht is set to see the warmest weather, while Leinster will be cooler.
She explained: “If you’re living in the East, just be prepared for temperatures not to be all that mild. Really the mildest conditions are for Atlantic coasts or counties.”
However, the meteorologist said that even where it’s cooler, it will still be dry and sunny and feel “fairly pleasant”.
She did advise though that people in these cooler areas should “wrap up a little bit” as opposed to breaking out the shorts and sandals just yet.
The reason for the good weather is Storm Lola, which is heading to Ireland from Portugal this weekend, triggering a substantial temperature swing across the country.
Lola’s strong winds are set to push some high pressure over to the UK and Ireland, bringing some good weather with it.
