Screwfix to create 400 jobs in Ireland across 40 new stores

Great news on the jobs front.

Major UK trade tool retailer Screwfix are set to establish 40 physical stores in Ireland to add to their online presence.

According to the company, they’re expecting to create around 400 jobs in Ireland.

Each of the new stores will stock 10,000 products, from power tools and work wear to heating and electrical with 24,000 products available to order online for delivery and collection from store.

So far, opening dates have been provided for just three stores – two of which are already open for business – with opening times of 7am to 8pm on weekdays, 7am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sunday.

  • Swords, Dublin: 10 December 2019
  • Waterford: 17 December 2019

Another store is set to open in Ennis in early 2020.

Speaking about the brand’s arrival into Ireland, Screwfix CEO John Mewett, said:

“We’re extremely excited to be launching Screwfix stores in Ireland to help tradespeople get their jobs done quickly, affordably and on time.

“The creation of bricks and mortar stores in Ireland is a major milestone for us and a direct result of the increasing demand from Irish tradespeople for our fantastic range of products.”
