In case you hadn’t noticed, it’s a bit manky out there…

Met Éireann this morning issued a Red weather warning as Mother Nature continues to act like a woman scorned, sending horrible storms, winds and snow our way.

According to Met Éireann, it will be “cold over Ulster at first, with frost and icy patches. But extremely windy or stormy weather will push up from the south, with spells of heavy and possibly thundery rain or showers and some spot flooding. The rain may be preceded by some sleet and snow in some northern areas. Some damaging gusts are expected, especially over Munster, south Connacht and parts of south Leinster. Top temperatures of 5 to 8 C.”

The weather-predicting prophets also issued a status Red wind warning, the highest level, for counties Cork and Kerry as stormy conditions and high seas are expected, with damaging winds gusting up to 160km/h, especially in exposed coastal areas.

You can keep up to date with all of the weather news by visiting the Met Éireann site.

Snow also continues to fall as you can see from these crackin’ Winter wonderland images from Derry being sent into us … in Spring.
