A man has been arrested in relation to the incident.
Several people have been killed and more injured in the Norwegian town of Kongsberg after a man armed with a bow and arrow attacked a number of people.
Local police said that the man who has been arrested in relation to the incident acted alone, adding that the attacks occurred over a "large area" with multiple crime scenes.
"We can unfortunately confirm that there are several injured and also unfortunately several killed in this episode," Øyvind Aas, the police chief in the town told a press conference on Tuesday night.
He added that the attacker's motive was still unknown.
Police in the area arrived at the scene of the incident shortly after 6pm after reports of a man firing a bow and arrow in the street.
The Police Chief said that they are currently "securing the various crime scenes" and "have many witnesses to interview."
"A lot of resources were sent from several places, including Oslo police district, the bomb squad, national police and emergency response teams," Aas told reporters.
