A man has suffered serious injuries following a shooting incident in Dublin.

At the time of writing on Tuesday afternoon (22 February), Gardaí and emergency services are attending the scene in the Tallaght region.
The shooting took place at approximately 1pm on Tuesday.
According to RTÉ News, the incident occurred on farmland outside of Tallaght.
It is understood that the man was shot in the head.

He has been taken to Tallaght University Hospital, where his condition has been described as serious.
Gardaí have preserved the scene so that a technical examination may be carried out.
It is not believed at this time that the shooting is connected to organised crime.
