24-year-old man dies following stabbing incident in Limerick pub

The incident took place just before midnight on Saturday night.

A 24-year-old man has died following a stabbing incident in a Limerick pub.

The incident is said to have occurred at approximately 11.55pm at a premises on Sexton Street North.

It is reported that the man received serious stab wounds, and paramedics treated  at the scene but he was pronounced dead just before 1am at University Hospital Limerick.

The scene of the incident has been preserved for a technical examination and the Garda Technical Bureau are attending the scene.

No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.

Gardaí are appealing to witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident or who may have information to contact them at Mayorstone Garda Station on 061-456980, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
