Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow fog warning for six counties this weekend.
Valid from 9pm on Saturday until midday Sunday, the warning applies to Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Meath, Offaly and Westmeath.
It states that areas of “dense fog” will form on Saturday night in near calm conditions and will be slow to lift on Sunday morning.
“Poor visibility will lead to hazardous travelling conditions,” the warning reads.

Met Éireann’s forecast says Saturday will be mostly dry, cloudy and misty, with just occasional bright or sunny periods.
Patches of drizzle are possible, mainly on southern coasts and over hills, with highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees with light to moderate winds.
Sunday, meanwhile, will be another largely dry and cloudy day with just isolated patches of drizzle.
Highest temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees are forecasted in light to moderate breezes.
As for Met Éireann’s outlook for Christmas week, its summary reads: “High pressure will continue to bring settled conditions for the early days of next week but it will turn unsettled and possibly colder later in the week.”
