It’s a new week and with that comes… another weather warning. Get in.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow warning for 10 counties, with near gale force winds and heavy rain on the horizon.
The affected counties in question are Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Waterford, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.
According to the national forecaster, strong to near gale force and gusty southeast to south winds will arrive on Tuesday morning (8 March) and extend through the afternoon.
These winds will be accompanied by heavy rain, clearing to squally showers across the afternoon.
Met Éireann has also warned of hazardous driving conditions as a result, with the possibility of localised flooding.
The warning is valid from 4am on Tuesday and will remain in place until 3pm on the same day.
Meanwhile, a Status Orange marine warning will be in place on Tuesday with storm-like conditions anticipated from Valentia to Slyne Head to Rossan Point.
This warning is valid from 6am on Tuesday until 1pm.
A separate Status Yellow marine warning for all coasts of Ireland and on the Irish Sea notes that south to southwest winds will reach gale force 8 or strong gale force 9 at times.
This warning is valid from midnight on Monday night / Tuesday morning and will remain in operation until 6pm on Tuesday.
