This is serious.
The public have been warned not to leave their homes between 4pm on Thursday and midday on Friday, given the Status Red warning issued by Met Éireann.
“Blizzard-like conditions will develop in heavy snow and strong easterly winds on Thursday evening and will continue Thursday night and Friday morning,” said Met Éireann as they issued the fresh warning for Munster and Leinster.

They have warned of heavy snow drifts in many areas.
All Dublin Bus services for Thursday have been cancelled, while all schools and third level institutions will close across the two provinces.

It is forecast that up to 25cm of snow will have fallen by midday on Thursday.
The National Emergency Coordination Committee have stressed the need for people to stay indoors from 4pm on Thursday, while Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said the army was on standby if needed and said that there was no threat to food security.
