Following much disappointment on Wednesday with the cancellation of the annual Spin 1038 Student Race Day at Leopardstown comes the good news that said event now has a new date in place.
The hotly-anticipated student bash has been officially rescheduled for Monday 16 April, with all tickets purchased for the original event valid for the new date.
Students who are unable to attend the rescheduled date and seeking a refund should drop an email to refund@leopardstown.com before 5pm on Wednesday 11 April.
Exchange tickets will be made available on the Leopardstown Racecourse website for €16.
Gates will open at 1pm on the day with the first of seven races starting at 3:35pm.
Shuttle buses will be running from DCU, UCD and Maynooth and tickets purchased for the buses will remain valid for the new date.
Heavy rainfall led to the cancellation of the original race day, despite best efforts to run as planned.
"Leopardstown very much regrets having to cancel today’s race meeting and every effort was made to try and go ahead with the race meeting but unfortunately it was outside our control," noted the official statement.
