Body discovered in River Suir in search for missing girl Elisha Gault

The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.

A body has been recovered by emergency services during the search for missing teenager Elisha Gault.

The body was spotted by coast guard helicopter, Rescue 117 in the River Suir at approxiamtely 7pm on Sunday 25 March.

A search team recovered the body in Killowen near Portlaw, Co. Waterford.

An identity has not been established yet, although it is said that the body belongs to that of a female.

The body was transferred to University Hospital Waterford for a post-mortem, while Gardaí are liaising with her parents, Gráinne and Cameron, and her extended family.

14-year-old Elisha Gault was last seen at 10.15pm on 17 March in Carrick-On-Suir, Co. Tipperary.
