Get on your bike.

We just want to give you a heads up if you’re planning to get a taxi in Dublin later on today.

Taxi drivers in the city are staging a protest this afternoon over the restructuring of fares by the National Transport Authority.

The drivers are expected to travel from the Papal Cross in the Phoenix Park to Leinster House at 2pm, where they’ll deliver a letter to the Transport Minister Paschal Donohue.

The planned changes, which are due to come into effect in April, will see drivers lose 32 cent per kilometre on long daytime journeys.
