Looking for a job for the Christmas? This could be right up your street.

People looking for some part-time work to top up their funds over the Christmas season will be interested to hear an announcement from Dixons Carphone this morning.

Ireland’s largest independent technology and telecoms retailer this morning announced that they will be creating 220 jobs across their 125 outlets throughout Ireland to cope with the busy festive period.

Roles ranging from retail to sales to customer support and commercial positions have been made available in 98 Carphone Warehouse and 27 Currys PC World stores throughout the country.

Recruitment has already begun and the company hope to have all positions filled within the next month.

Commenting on today’s announcement, Mark Slater, Managing Director, Dixons Carphone said that the company is looking for talented, energetic and tech-savvy people to work across all parts of the business.

“Christmas, both pre-and post, is the busiest time of the year and we’re pleased to report that Christmas shopping has already started here in Ireland,” Slater said.

“Our seasonal staff each year are key to managing this busy period and delivering for our customers.

“In particular this year, we’re looking for tech-savvy candidates as our technology products, including phones and tablets, remain a top seller so people with tech knowledge and experience will be required to advise our customers.”
