The collision occurred in Nugentstown, Kells, on Tuesday evening.

A teenager has been killed following a hit-and-run collision in County Meath.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses of the fatal crash involving a van and a bicycle at Nugentstown, Kells, on Tuesday evening, August 25.

Emergency services responded to the scene at approximately 8.05pm where an adult male aged in his late teens was pronounced dead.

The van failed to remain at the scene.

The man's body has been conveyed to the mortuary at Our Lady’s Hospital Navan, where a postmortem examination will take place in due course.

The coroner has been notified.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have been travelling in the area of Nugentstown on Tuesday evening between 7.30pm and 8.30pm, and who may have camera footage, to make it available to investigating gardaí.
