The men in question haven’t been confirmed as Irish, but both have Irish accents and both obviously had a huge part to play in saving the life of a 15-year old stab victim in London.

According to london24.com, 15-year old Jahmal Swaby was stabbed in the chest at Finsbury Park Station in North London on Sunday morning after gang members demanded that he hand over a Louis Vuitton scarf that he was wearing, having borrowed it from his brother.

Despite his distressed state after the incident, Jahmal was ignored by drivers and passers-by until two men placed him on the ground, put pressure on his wound, instructed him not to panic and called an ambulance.

The men were described as being white, middle aged, around 6ft tall and of normal build. Both men had Irish accents and one was wearing a black polo top.

Recalling the incident, Jahmal said: “I didn’t feel pain when it happened but I just remember my life flashing before my eyes.

“Then I went into shock and felt the pain. I was scared but nobody seemed to care – people deliberately tried to avoid me. It made me feel worthless.

“When the police came, the men who helped were pushed to one side but they didn’t leave.

“They waited till the ambulance came to take me away.”

“I would like to meet and thank them in person. I’m sure that I would not be here today if it wasn’t for their help.”

Jahmal was detained in hospital for two days while doctors treated a wound that was four inches long and three inches deep and his brother, 35-year old Adrian Williams, the owner of the scarf and Jahmal’s legal guardian since the death of their mother two years ago, was also keen to contact the two men who had helped save Jahmal’s life.

“I would like to say thank you to them in person. It is rare to find normal citizens who are willing to help people in need these days,” he said.

“There are people who openly condemn knife crime and show their support to victims but when push comes to shove, these same people are the ones who walked past my brother, with their heads down.”

Two teenage boys, aged 14 and 17, have been arrested in relation to the incident, but if you know of anyone who might have any information with regard to the people who helped save Jahmal’s life, you can check out the contact details at the bottom of the piece on london24.com here.
