Teenager dies in road crash in Monaghan as Gardaí appeal for witnesses

Gardaí have asked road users who may have dash cam footage of the incident to make it available.

A male in his teens has tragically died in a road crash in Monaghan on Friday night.

At around 11.30pm, Gardaí were alerted to a road traffic collision involving two cars on the N2 in Tullybuck in Clontibret.

The driver of one car, the male in his teens, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The N2 remains closed at Tullybuck today to allow for Forensic Collision Investigators to conduct an examination of the scene. Local diversions are in place.

In a statement, Gardaí said they are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

They are also appealing to anyone who was in the Tullybuck, Clontibret area on Friday night between 11.15pm and midnight to contact them.

“Any road users who were travelling in the area and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí,” a Garda spokesperson added.
