A man and a woman have been arrested.

Detectives from Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) Terrorism Unit have arrested two people on suspicion of a range of terrorism-related offences.

A 31-year-old woman was arrested when officers carried out a search operation at an address on Cladytown Road in Glarryford, County Antrim on Friday evening (5 July).

In a later follow-up operation, a 33-year-old man was arrested after police stopped a car on the Westlink in Belfast.

“The proactive search at the property uncovered a range of suspected munitions and a quantity of ammunition,” said PSNI Detective Inspector Anthony Kelly.

“All items will now be subject to forensic examination.”

The arrested pair were taken to the PSNI’s Serious Crime Suite where they will be questioned under terrorism legislation.
