The brand of cake was accidentally packaged with carrot cake.
Tesco has ordered the recall of a batch of its Finest Chocolate Cake after it was found to contain walnuts.
The Irish supermarket chain has recalled batch D32/18003 with a best before date of 17 January 2018, which was “incorrectly packed with carrot cake”.
This carrot cake contains walnuts, which has not been declared on the label.
“This may make the batch unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of walnuts”, said the Food Safety Authority of Ireland.
The cake, which is available from Irish Tesco stores and its official website, was ordered for recall by the FSAI on Tuesday evening, 9 January.
