We need to get a handle on this.
If you’re living in Dublin or lived there before, you probably know someone that’s had their bike stolen.
It’s something that happens every day and a new survey has revealed just exactly how many bikes are nicked every 24 hours on the streets of the capital.
The numbers from a Bike Theft Group reveal that 14 bicycles are stolen every day which adds up to almost 5,000 every year.
That’s a 167% rise over the last five years and Lord Mayor Críona Ní Dhálaigh vowed to combat the issue today.
Fingers crossed it works.
