The number of bikes that are stolen every day in Dublin

If you're living in Dublin or lived there before, you probably know someone that's had their bike stolen. It's something that happens every day and a new survey has revealed just exactly how many bikes are nicked every 24 hours on the streets of the capital. The numbers from a Bike Theft Group reveal that 14 bicycles are stolen every day which adds up to almost 5,000 every year. That's a 167% rise over the last five years and Lord Mayor Críona Ní Dhálaigh vowed to combat the issue today. Fingers crossed it works.
