Great news for Cork.
University College Cork and Cork Institute of Technology are the big winners in this year’s Sunday Times Good University Guide.
UCC has been named University of the Year for a record-breaking fourth time having previously picked up the accolade in 2003, 2005 and 2011.
They finished just ahead of NUI Maynooth in the league table that measures the performance of all 21 third-level institutions in Ireland.
The staff and students at CIT are also celebrating today after they were named Sunday Times Institute of Technology of the Year.
The awards have been running for 14 years and it’s the first time Dublin IT (DIT) haven’t finished top of those rankings.
The full league table will be published in The Sunday Times this weekend.
