The latest Storm Frank update from Met Éireann

Feck off Frank.

As Storm Frank continues to batter homes up and down the island of Ireland, Met Éireann has issued this latest update on today and tomorrow’s weather.

Today

Severe winds with damaging gusts for a time this morning abating by early afternoon.

Heavy showers mostly in the west and northwest, thundery in places and possibly wintry on higher ground. Showers will become more scattered during the afternoon with some sunny spells developing. Cold with temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees Celsius.

Tonight

Cold tonight with clear periods but showers in places also, some prolonged in southern counties especially and some may be wintry in northern areas. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees Celsius with sharp frost in places and some icy patches.

Tomorrow (Thursday)

Cold and blustery tomorrow, windy in some coastal areas.

A band of heavy prolonged showers in southern counties will spread northwards during the morning, so turning very showery with heavy falls of rain in places for a time but rain or showers will become more scattered again by evening. Some wintry falls of sleet or wet snow likely on higher ground.

Afternoon highs of 3 to 8 degrees Celsius.
