The UK set for unseasonable heatwave this weekend; no such luck for Ireland

Homenews

Damn.

As if moaning about our own weather isn’t enough, Irish people will look with envy at the UK this weekend as our neighbours are expected to enjoy a mini-heatwave. ‘Heatwave’ might be stretching things as temperatures are expected to hit highs of 14 degrees, but if that is the case, it will be just one degree less than the record for February 20 and double the maximum temperature for the same day last year. According to Met Éireann, parts of Ireland will experience temperatures of up to 12 degrees but we’ll hardly feel it because there will be rain everywhere on Saturday and Sunday, with heavy showers and even hail showers expected in places. The cold snap is expected to return on Sunday night with temperatures as low as -1, while the outlook for next week is miserable to say the least. Great.
