Here’s what the weather forecast looks like for the week

Rosanna Cooney

It’s our most fickle friend.

There is nothing reliable about our good friend the weather, but doesn’t that make it all the more exciting? Who needs constant sunshine when you have good layering? Who wants four seasons in a year when you can have three of them in a single hour?

This week, Ireland’s weather is going to continue being its most indecisive self. A bit of rain here and a bit of sun there, as ever, we’re at the sweet mercy of a changing forecast.

According to Met Éireann tomorrow will be rainy and a little breezy. Wednesday is picking up some sunshine and other than a few mandatory showers for the garden, it’s set to be fine and dry.

There’s some fog rolling in on Wednesday night though so turn those yellow lights on. It might also be worth taking a minute to remember the long gone drone of the foghorn that once swept in from the coast.

Thursday looks like it’s going to be pretty random on the weather front with dry conditions prevailing early on, but a smattering of rain will turn heavy and thundery as the day develops.

Friday looks set to be a fresh day of possibilities, slightly sunny, slightly rainy, slightly cloudy and slightly clear but who wants predictability when you can have changeability?

The weekend is playing it safe with a similar amount of indecision. Early predictions say that it might be a bit wet but it will probably be a bit dry too. Yes, we’re perplexed too.

While it does seem that the weather is constantly trying to decide how best to play this week, the forecasters at TG4 are taking it all in their stride.

As they say ‘Is maith an scéalaí an Aimsir!”.

Le aimsire mar seo tá muid ag tnúth go mór leis an tseachtain atá le teacht.
