This figure shows that the boom times are certainly back in Ireland

Joe Harrington

Hold onto your hats, people.

The comment “the boom is back” has been seeping back into every day conversation in Ireland in the last 12 months, but new figures mean it’s almost back in full swing.

Figures from the Private Residential Tenancies Board have revealed that renting a home in Dublin now costs just €30 less each month than it did in 2007, which was the height of the boom.

Nationally, rents for houses were 7.7% higher (€901 – up from €830), while apartment rents were 9% higher (€945 – up from €866) than this time last year (Q3, 2014).

Jaysus, now all we need are the €6 coffees and the €10 paninis.
