“The great growth story of Jameson continues…”

Jameson is officially the king of Irish spirits, according to a new global survey.

The popular Irish drink takes the coveted 11th spot on Impact’s Top 100 Premium Spirits global countdown, with Baileys at #13 and Tullamore Dew at #99, respectively.

Elsewhere, Hennessy clocks in at #8 but that’s really only Irish if you’re employing the Granny rule, as the famous cognac was founded by Irishman Richard Hennessy in 1765 but is a French brand.

The annual report compiles global research carried out for drinks executive Shanken News Daily, and sees Jameson climb four places from the previous year.

“As these impressive rankings on demonstrate, the great growth story of Jameson continues,” said Jean-Christophe Coutures, Chairman and CEO of Irish Distillers

“At Irish Distillers we are incredibly proud to lead the sustained growth of an iconic Irish product that is truly loved the world over,” he added.

“Jameson has been driving the growth of the Irish whiskey category for the past 28 years, and it continues to thrive with double or triple digit growth in 80 markets across the world.”

The illustrious top 10 premium spirits list looks like this:

  1. Smirnoff
  2. Johnnie Walker
  3. Barcardi
  4. Jack Daniel’s
  5. Captain Morgan
  6. Absolut
