Shooting Denmark

Very sad news.

A gunman has killed three people and injured another four at a shopping centre in Denmark’s capital Copenhagen.

At a press conference on Monday morning, Copenhagen chief inspector Soren Thomassen said one of the three killed was a Russian citizen living in Denmark, while the others were both from Denmark and both aged 17.

Two Swedes and two Danes were critically wounded.

A 22-year-old Danish man was arrested after the shooting, Copenhagen police inspector Søren Thomassen said.

Described as “an ethnic Dane”, he was arrested minutes after the shooting at Field’s centre.

He had mental health issues and there is no indication of a terror motive, Police chief Soeren Thomassen said.

“We are going to have a large investigation and a massive operational presence in Copenhagen until we can say with certainty: he was alone,” Thomassen said.

Images taken at the scene showed police in protective gear running into the building while Danish broadcaster TV2 published a photo of the alleged gunman, a man wearing knee-length shorts, a sleeveless shirt, armed with what is believed to be a rifle.
