A three-year-old boy has died after being struck by a car in Dublin.
Gardaí are currently at the scene of the collision that occurred at the underground car park of Charlestown Shopping Centre in Finglas on Wednesday (11 March).
A Garda spokesperson has said that Gardaí and emergency services responded to the incident shortly after 8.40am.
The young boy was transported by ambulance to Children's Health Ireland (CHI) Temple Street with serious injuries and was pronounced deceased on Wednesday afternoon.
"A Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been appointed to support the family at this time," the spokesperson added.
"The scene is preserved, and a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators is being carried out. Investigations are ongoing."
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
"Persons who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the Charlestown area this morning between 8.20am and 9.00am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí," the spokesperson said.
