Tim Curry, the actor best known for his role as Dr Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show, has died at the age of 80, as reported by The Independent, quoting a report from TMZ.

Curry had been suffering from significant health problems since a major stroke in 2012 had left him unable to walk.

Sources are said to have told American outlet TMZ that Curry passed away on Tuesday evening, while at his Los Angeles home.

The outlet said that police were called to an address but the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Curry was born in Cheshire, England in 1946, and went on to have a massively successful acting career, both on stage, and in film and TV.
