Toddler dies after being struck by car in driveway in Cork

An 18-month-old toddler has died in Cork after being struck by a car on the driveway of a house.

Shortly after 5pm on Tuesday (25 January), emergency services attended the scene of the incident near Skibbereen.
The baby boy sustained serious injuries after being struck by the car and was taken from the scene by ambulance to Cork University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The local Coroner has been notified.
Gardaí have said enquires into the incident are ongoing, though it is being treated as a tragic accident.
