Very sad news.
A 23-month-old male toddler has died after a tragic paddling pool accident in Roscommon.
Gardaí were alerted to an incident involving the toddler, who was found in a serious condition at his home in Tulsk on Monday.
It’s understood the alarm was raised when the toddler was found unresponsive in a paddling pool.
Paramedics treated the toddler at the scene and he was taken to University College Hospital Galway by air ambulance.
The toddler was later transferred to Temple Street Children’s Hospital, where his condition was critical.
Gardaí have been informed that the male toddler died at Temple Street Children’s Hospital on Thursday. A file will now be prepared for the county Coroner.
The family of the deceased have appealed for privacy at this time.
