There are reports that police have put the station into a state of lockdown.

Police in Barcelona have evacuated two trains in the city's biggest train station following reports of a suspicious device. Checks are being conducted in the area after a possible explosive device was said to be found in some luggage on one of the trains. A spokesperson for the regional police said (via The Independent) that a specialist unit was activated at the high-speed railway tracks of Barcelona's central Sants station. The potentially explosive device was discovered at 8am local time (7am GMT) on Wednesday morning, and at the moment, the spokesperson has stated that Barcelona police are following protocol.
