Tributes pour in after sudden death of teen who starred in RTÉ show

Cian Neville featured on RTÉ show Raised by the Village.

15-year-old Cian Neville from Ringsend passed away suddenly on August 23, surrounded by his loved ones.

As part of the show, which aired last year, the teenager spent a week on the Payne family’s farm in Tulsk in Roscommon where he swapped Dublin city for an experience of rural life.

Cian was laid to rest in Glasnevin on Saturday, August 30, following Funeral Mass in Saint Patrick's Church, Ringsend.

Owners of Hilltop Dairies in Ballybeg, who the young man stayed with during the show, paid tribute to the young man, saying their week together was one they 'will never forget.'

"2 years ago we got to spend a week with Cian, it was a brilliant week filled with laughter and learning from each other, a week we will never forget.

"We are deeply saddened to say that today we joined his family and huge circle of friends to say goodbye to Cian, forever 15."

Furthermore, Dottie's Doghouse in Castlerea paid tribute to Cian, who spent time there during his stint on the show.

"I got some very sad news this evening. The lovely boy who was with us for the tv series 'Raised by the village' sadly passed away last week.

"He was a true little gentleman and I really enjoyed my time with him in the making of the series. Absolutely gutted for his mam dad and siblings.

"Cian it was a total pleasure meeting you. Rest in peace beautiful boy."

Hundreds of tributes poured in for the teenager, with one person describing him as a 'beautiful lovable boy'.

"So sorry for ye're tragic loss..thank you for sharing Cian with us and letting us all get to know him on TV," wrote one person.

Another paid tribute: "I had the pleasure of coaching Cian in Artane Beaumont FC.

"He had great character, wise for his years, he was so well liked by the rest of the boys, they were a great team and he played his part well."

Cian is sadly missed by his heartbroken parents Orla and Ian, siblings Coady, Ava and Joe, Joe's girlfriend Kelsey, grandparents Debbie and Ged, Brian and Zane, aunts, uncles, extended family and wide circle of friends and neighbours.
