Trump campaign withdraws final lawsuit as voter fraud claims prove false

So it turns out that Donald Trump cannot bend every cog of the American political machine to his will. The US president's campaign to challenge the legality of his election defeat to Joe Biden caused concern initially - among people both in the US and elsewhere globally - but it appears to be a pursuit which will end with a whimper, and failure. On Thursday, the Trump campaign announced that it had withdrawn its final legal challenge against the election results, in the state of Michigan. Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani made a bizarre statement on the matter, saying: "This morning we are withdrawing our lawsuit in Michigan as a direct result of achieving the relief we sought: to stop the election in Wayne County from being prematurely certified before residents can be assured that every legal vote has been counted." Now, it's not unusual for a Trump campaign statement to be bizarre - that is, essentially, their MO - but the reason this one is so strange is because Wayne County did in fact have its election results certified.
