With so much GAA on today it features heavily in our Tweets of the Day, as does a fake Gareth Bale and the real Rupert Murdoch.

With so much GAA on today it features heavily in our Tweets of the Day, as does a fake Gareth Bale and the real Rupert Murdoch.

While we eagerly anticipated the meeting of Kildare and Meath today, it was the presence of well-known critic of Kildare Colm Parkinson, on the sideline for Newstalk that also had us listening. Newstalk’s Ger Gilroy issued a plea earlier today to try and save Woolly a bit of grief.

Earlier, the issue of the refereeing of Westmeath and Louth, by Longford’s Derek Fahy drew some comment. Louth had two men sent off in the first half and their players took to Twitter to complain. Westmeath also had a man sent off, and won by six, but Fahy’s performance didn’t go down well with Louth’s Ronan Carroll.

But it wasn’t all bad news. This tweeter was very excited about settling in for an afternoon of our national games.

Over to soccer and the rumoured arrival of Inter Milan full back Maicon to Chelsea made on Spurs winger very happy. Well, one fake Spurs winger anyway.

Finally, Rupert Murdoch has decided to kick Tom Cruise when he is down. And yes, Murdoch’s inability to spell hierarchy is funny.
