Two arrested as 40 youths obstruct Gardaí in Salthill, Galway
Multiple Garda units were called to the scene in Salthill in an effort to restore peace and disperse the crowd.
Two people have been arrested following a public order incident in Galway on Saturday.
The incident occurred around 7pm on the Salthill promenade when two Gardaí on patrol noticed an altercation between two men.
When Gardaí approached, one of the men became aggressive and resisted arrest.
During the course of the incident, approximately 40 youths obstructed Gardaí.
Multiple Garda units were called to the scene in an effort to restore peace and disperse the crowd.
Two persons were arrested during the course of the incident and taken to Salthill Garda Station.
They have since been released and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to this matter.
