Some very good news for two of Dublin’s most popular restaurants.

Two Dublin restaurants have won big at the 2020 World Luxury Restaurant Awards.

SOLE Seafood and Grill has been recognised as Best Luxury Seafood Restaurant in Europe for the second year running at the prestigious awards, while its sister restaurant, FIRE Steakhouse, took home the gold for Global Steakhouse of the Year 2020.

The Culinary Director of both restaurants, chef Richie Wilson, said the awards have given the two Irish-owned sister restaurants a “much-needed morale boost” during what is a difficult time for the hospitality sector.

FIRE is located near St Stephen’s Green, while SOLE is on South William Street.

FIRE recently spent €1 million on refurbishments, before lockdown restrictions resulted in its closure for the majority of 2020.

“I am so proud to be part of the team who have truly earned the recognition that these awards give us. Winning Best Global Steakhouse with FIRE is incredible,” Wilson said.

“This could only have come from the passionate driving force that is our team, following the enhancements we have made to both the dining room and our menus.

“Sometimes it’s harder to retain an award than win it, so for SOLE to have received the award for Best Luxury Seafood Restaurant in Europe once again shows how aligned our teams are, consistently delivering a truly special dining experience in FIRE and SOLE”.
