A number of properties in the Ennis area were searched.
Gardaí in Clare have arrested two men in their 30s as part of an on-going operation targeting the sale and supply of illegal drugs and the possession of firearms.
An Garda Síochána said the searches were carried out as part of an ongoing operation that’s related to a number of drugs and firearms incidents in the county – including a major seizure in 2018.
A sub-machine gun was seized along with cocaine and cannabis worth €125,000 on 24 August 2018.
As part of the operation, detective and uniform Gardaí from the Clare division carried out searches at a number of properties in the Ennis area this morning, 22 October.
Both men are currently being detained at Ennis and Shannon Garda Stations under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.
