Two guns, as well as 30 rounds of ammunition, were seized after Gardaí pulled over a car in West Dublin on Sunday evening.
Two hand guns were found during a search of the vehicle, which was stopped shortly after 7pm in the Clonsilla area.
30 rounds of 9mm ammunition were also recovered from the car. All of the items seized will now be forwarded to the Garda Technical Bureau for forensic and ballistic examination.
Two men were arrested following the search, and are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939 at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
Gardaí confirmed that the seizure was made as part of operations targeting organised crime in the West Dublin area. The investigation is ongoing.
