Two men have died following a road crash in Cork

Very sad news.

Two men have died following a road traffic collision which occurred near Charleville in Cork.

Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision which occurred on the N20 at Rathgoggin.

It’s understood the collision involved a car and a motorcycle.

The driver of the car, a man aged in his early 70s, and the driver of the motorcycle, a 20-year-old man, were both fatally injured during the collision.

The bodies of both men remain at the scene at this time.

Forensic Collision Investigators are examining the scene and the road is currently closed with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. They are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), who were travelling in the area between 1.30pm and 3pm to make this footage available to Gardaí.
