Two people killed following serious road collision in Dublin

Tragic news.

Two people have died following a car crash in Drumcondra in North Dublin on Friday morning.

A man in his 60s and woman in her 30s (both sole occupants of the vehicles) were fatally injured in a road traffic collision on the Drumcondra Rd Lower on Friday morning.

The incident took place between 5.45 and 6.15am.

A technical and forensic examination of the scene is currently underway.

Drumcondra Road Lower will remain closed in both directions for a number of hours and diversions remain in place.

The deceased male and female have been removed to the Dublin City Mortuary, Whitehall, where a post mortem examination will take place.

Gardaí have now renewed their appeal to motorists with dashcams or anyone that was travelling on Drumcondra Rd Lower between 5.45am and 6.15am to contact Mountjoy Garda Station on 016668600, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda station.
