Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rain warning for 26 counties this weekend.
The warning affects all counties in the Republic of Ireland and will come into effect at 9pm on Saturday night and remain in place until 12pm on Sunday.
Met Éireann has warned that high rainfall amounts this weekend may cause disruption.
Separately, the UK Met Office has issued a Status Yellow rainfall warning for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Tyrone and Derry.
Fermanagh was not included in the warning.
The warning comes into effect at midnight on Saturday and remains in place for the entire day.
On Thursday, Met Éireann issued a weather advisory, which will take effect from 7pm on Friday to 7pm on Monday over “wet and windy weather”.
Friday morning will start mostly cloudy with scattered showers in the east of the country.
By afternoon, a band of rain will reach the west, with brighter conditions throughout the middle of the country, as highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees are forecast.
Friday night will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain turning persistent and locally heavy at times.
Lowest temperatures will range from 8 to 11 degrees in Munster and Connacht, but will not fall below 12 to 15 degrees in Ulster and Leinster.
It will be a cloudy start on Saturday morning with rain persisting in parts of Ulster and Leinster throughout the day, though sunny spells and showers will push into the south and west.
This is as highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees are forecasted.
Wet and blustery conditions will extend from the south across the country on Saturday night with some heavy falls of rain at times.
Lowest temperatures will range from 8 to 13 degrees generally as fresh and gusty southeasterly winds veer southwesterly later.
